Consider using an alternative browser to Internet Explorer - it is generally behind the times in features.
Firefox and Opera have
enabled users to make use of tabbed browsing for a number of version releases before their current 2.0 release. Microsoft has only just enabled this for
IE7.
Use tabs instead of new windows - either use the right mouse button when clicking on links (and choose "Open in New Tab") or set the default option to open
links in a new tab:
IE7 - Tools > Internet Options > General : Tabs - tick the box to enable tabbed browsing and also select "A new tab in the current window".
Firefox - Tools > Options > Tabs - select "New pages should be opened in a new tab".
Opera - Just click on the "New Tab" icon under the menu.
Cycle through tabs in Internet Explorer by holding Ctrl and use the Tab button to cycle through the tabs. If you want to go back to the last tab, hold down
Ctrl and Shift and use the Tab button to cycle.
Other Computer Tips
Cycle through all your open progams by holding the Alt key and hitting the Tab key to get to the next program - much easier than having to always use a mouse!
